This winter gingerbread house village won the ‘Best Decoration’ award at the 2013 Boston Christmas Festival’s Gingerbread House Competition. The event benefits Housing Families Inc., an organization that strives to prevent homelessness by providing shelter and affordable housing for local at-risk families.
The piece was bought in auction by Melrose Cooperative Bank and went on display in their lobby for the holiday season.
It was decorated with royal icing, candy, and modeling chocolate and measures 3 1/2 feet long by 2 feet wide by 2 feet high.
