Valentine’s Inspiration 1 — 19 Comments

  1. I’m late to the party, but I wanted to share this project with you. It was the result of a five week (Sat only) class I taught quite a few years back. Students learned many basic skills in the four weeks, and prepared some of their decorations ahead of time. In the last class everyone assembled and decorated a cake using their favourite techniques and pieces. This was my finished sample …

  2. This year I am making a chocolate mousse cake for Valentine’s Day…and cookies of course! Thank you for a chance to win!

  3. New to caking here and LOVE your site! Thanks for the ideas, tips and inspiration!

  4. I made this for a birthday party so why not use it as inspiration for a valentine shaped sushi cake and tiny heart shaped baby sushi? All the same components, just heart shaped!

  5. Hi Kristen
Long time no see! I’ve shifted my focus recently and have been trying to teach myself pastry. I’ve been working my way through “Patisserie made simple” so for Valentine’s Day I’m thinking an assortment of dipped treats—chocolate sables, orangettes and earl grey truffles. Recently used modeling chocolate on daughters bday cake..see pic. Hope you’re doing well.

  6. Great videos and love your modeling chocolate book! Lots of cakes next week but here in Mexico they don’t buy cakes or cupcakes for Valentine’s Day.
I made this Mexican fabric cake last week.

  7. HI Kristen, I love all your inspiration. Thanks for sharing.
Some truffles might be nice 🙂

  8. Heart shaped cake covered in fondant to look like a candy box filled with chocolate covered red velvet cake balls to look like chocolate candies

  9. Thank you for all that you share. You are truly a treasure.

I am currently trying to perfect my red velvet whoopee pies.

  12. I have an order for Valentine’s day cookies. I am trying something new this year with a totally different design using mandala designs and some embellishments on top of the cookies. The person is wanting this all in Royal Icing. In the past, I made several different designs, along with a cake!

I am teaming up with a local florist to provide super cute, super yummy add on Sweets for your Sweets ❤️
Thinking royal iced sugar cookies, fudging brownie balls and truffles are a must!!!
