Winner of Best in Show at the 2012 Boston Christmas Festival, this edible interpretation of Santa’s workshop was made of gingerbread cookies, royal icing, gumpaste, and candy.
The cookie structure was 3 1/2 foot wide, 3 1/2 foot tall.
The backside of this house was cut away to reveal the elves toy-making operation within.
Pretzel ladders lead to the shelves where candy toys are stored.
There is a wrapping station for all the presents with rolls of wrapping paper, spools of yarn and ribbons.
Mrs. Claus sits by the jelly bean fireplace. Gumpaste mittens hang on the wall.
This wing is where the gumpaste teddy bears live.
At the entrance of the gingerbread house, Santa and Rudolf are waiting by the cookie sleigh.
The gumpaste reindeer with grape stem antlers have an outdoor hut with toasted coconut “hay” on the ground.
