This chocolate cherry cake filling recipe is easy to make and easy to like. Note that cherry is considered a “polarizing flavor” in the world of product testing, meaning not everybody likes it. However the level of cherry flavor can be adjusted according to taste here.

A streamlined menu minimizes the amount of work required to make each cake, which is a terrific time-saver in the kitchen, especially for those who run a bakery business.
BASE RECIPE
Chocolate Buttercream Cake Frosting & Filling Components
– Chocolate cake layers
– Chocolate buttercream
– Cherry extract
– Chopped cherries (fresh, pitted or frozen)
1. Remove the pits from fresh cherries. Alternatively, buy frozen cherries and chop them roughly by hand on a cutting board.
2. Flavor chocolate buttercream to taste with cherry extract to make chocolate cherry flavored buttercream.
3. Using this layer cake filling method, spread a layer of chocolate cherry flavored buttercream onto the cake.
4. Sprinkle the chopped cherries on top of the filling and press them down gently to flatten before adding another cake layer.
5. Wrap the filled cake within its pan entirely in plastic wrap.
