The design for this delightful gingerbread house made by Annie Villeneauve, was inspired by a template from a book called Gingerbread for All Seasons by Teresa Layman. The template may be accessed by written request from Susan Cleland’s blog, Bloatal Recall. In her post entitled Gingerbread House there are instructions on how to make the request.

Annie used the dough recipe from Gingerbread House Dough Recipe & Baking Instructions. Her feedback on the dough is as follows: It is tasty, smells wonderful, no leavening whatsoever, bakes beautifully and is very sturdy! Annie also used the royal icing recipes from Gingerbread House Decoration & Construction.

My favorite part about this gingerbread house is the snowman figurine wearing earmuffs and a scarf, ice fishing for gummy candy on a frozen pond.

Annie made the round white shingles from white chocolate wafers piped with the chocolate royal icing recipe found in this book: Gingerbread House Construction and Decoration.

She cut rectangular shingles from cola flavored sour belts. Once again, Annie used chocolate royal icing icing to pipe contour on this part of the roof.

She made the benches from pretzel sticks. She made the trees and bushes by piping royal icing onto marshmallows and sugar cones. She made a chocolate fence out of KitKats strips.
