This incredible gingerbread cookie creature was crafted by Tiffany Morse, a fellow gingerbread house artist who I met in the California competition circuit. I think it’s fascinating that she began with a wire infrastructure and gradually baked on layer after layer of gingerbread until it began to represent a dragon! She used a Dremel tool and various other sculpting implements to achieve the finish. The delicate wings are made of corn husks.

Tiffany’s piece won 2nd place in the petite category in the 2010 Gingerbread City Gala in Del Mar, California. I hope you enjoyed day 28’s gingerbread creature feature.
