Perched atop a cake crumb cliff, there is a pink gingerbread house with piped cross stitched royal icing and a modeling chocolate figurine in the front yard.
I got this idea to experiment with a fine basket weave stitch from the cookie blog, SweetAmbs. Amber’s work also inspired my quilted chocolate gingerbread house design.
Here are what all the pieces of this gingerbread house looked like before they were iced together.
The roof tiles and the cross stitching patterns are all ombre style. Each cascade starts with a dark hue and ends with a light hue, with several hues in between.
